FAQs

Do you offer sessions at client sites (home gyms, etc)?

I currently do not offer in-person training sessions at any location other than Ascension Physical Therapy and Performance.

Where do we meet?

All training sessions are held at Ascension Physical Therapy and Performance. This is located at 1081 MN-36, Maplewood, MN 55109.

What’s your cancellation or reschedule policy?

Any purchased training session can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled session without the loss of that session.

  • For instance, if you purchase 6 sessions, and 48 hours prior to your first of 6 training sessions you have to cancel your session for some reason. You will still have 6 training sessions available to be used.

  • Any purchased training session that is cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the original scheduled time will be counted as a completed session. Exceptions are made for unforeseen sickness or medical emergencies.

    • If you purchase 6 sessions, and 18 hours prior to your first of 6 training sessions you cancel, or request to reschedule due to a reason other than the exceptions listed above, you will lose that training session. You will now have 5 training sessions available to be used

    • Any other exceptions will be made on an individual basis at Jake’s discretion.

Other Faqs

    • During a typical in-person training session you should expect a 5 - 10 minute general warm-up followed by a 50 - 55 minute workout.

    • Each workout will consist of either strength training, aerobic conditioning, anaerobic conditioning, or some combination of them.

    • Regardless of training modality, you will receive coaching and feedback on your training form and outcomes.

    • Each training session is also an opportunity for you to discuss any questions, concerns or curiosities you may have about your training and health and fitness goals.

  • Item description
    • Client goals are set following the SMART goal setting process.

      • Specific

      • Measurable

      • Achievable

      • Relevant

      • TIme-bound

    • Client progress is typically tracked through their individual training programs. Each program acts as a training log that the client can reference at any time to see how much progress they have made toward their training goals.

    • I do offer general nutritional guidance and advice as a part of your training

    • However, I am not a licensed nutritionist or dietitian, therefore I cannot offer any specific nutrition advice or provide any diet planning services.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

    • My hours of availability to schedule training sessions are:

      • M-F 6am- noon, 2pm - 6pm

      • Last AM session starts at 11am

      • Last PM session starts at 5pm

    • I am First-Aid/AED certified and will follow the emergency guidelines prescribed by the American Red Cross.

    • If an emergency occurs before, during or after a training session I will contact emergency services and render any First-Aid I am capable of providing at that time.

    • As a general guideline, it is good to adjust or change a variable or some variables in your exercise programming every four to six weeks.

      • Those variables could include exercise selection, volume, intensity, target heart rate, total workout time, and more.

    • With the purchase of a personalized training program on its own, your program will last four weeks.

    • With in-person training, the programs typically last four weeks as well before one or more variables are adjusted. This program length can vary however depending on training experience, individual goals and expectations, or other mitigating circumstances.
